Why We Exist.
At Project Derby, we believe that everyone deserves access to affordable food, practical support, and a welcoming place to belong.
Based in the heart of Derby, we are a volunteer-led community hub dedicated to supporting local people through life's challenges. Whether someone is struggling with the rising cost of living, feeling isolated, facing hardship, or simply looking for a friendly face and a hot meal, our doors are open to all.
Through our community café, affordable £2 hot meals, community shop, emergency food support, community garden, and partnership work with local organisations, we help individuals and families access the support they need while building stronger connections within the community.
Every week, we provide hundreds of meals, support vulnerable residents, connect people with vital services, and create opportunities for volunteering, learning, and personal growth. We are proud to work alongside local charities, housing providers, public services, and community groups to make a real difference across Derby.
